During your stay
Basic regulations and guidelines for the safety and security of devotees staying in Prasanthi Nilayam. Kindly observe these so the atmosphere remains conducive to spiritual practice for all.

Silence & simple living
- Maintain an austere, simple way of living during your stay.
- Preserve silence in and around the residential blocks and prayer halls.
- Move about in an orderly manner, without haste or crowding.
Dress code
- Shorts, sleeveless shirts, transparent, semi-transparent or tight-fitting clothes are not permitted.
- Both men and women should dress modestly, with clothing reaching down to the ankles.
- Women must wear a dupatta or shawl.
Prohibited items
- Tobacco products and paan are not allowed.
- Alcoholic drinks and narcotics are strictly prohibited.
- Non-vegetarian food may not be brought in or consumed.
- Knives, lighters, matches and similar items are not permitted.
Conduct between men & women
- Ladies and gents move separately within the ashram, including in queues and seating.
- Public displays of affection such as hugging or kissing are out of place here.
Photography
- Photography within the ashram is strictly prohibited.
- Please do not photograph or film inside Sai Kulwant Hall or other restricted areas. Follow all posted signage.
Security & CCTV
- The ashram is monitored by CCTV for the safety of all devotees.
- Kindly cooperate fully with security personnel and baggage checks.
- Report any suspicious activity or unattended belongings to security at once.
Personal belongings
- Do not leave valuables unattended in rooms or public areas.
- The Trust is not responsible for loss of, or damage to, personal belongings.
Dining
- Take your meals at the canteens within the posted timings.
- Maintain cleanliness and queue discipline at all dining areas.
Night movement
- Return to your rooms by 9:00 PM, after which movement within the ashram is restricted.
- Observe quiet during night hours so as not to disturb fellow devotees.
Donations
- Offer donations only through official channels of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust.
- Do not hand money or valuables to any individual claiming to collect on behalf of the ashram.
